Spectacular old West setting: The main adobe house in the style
of an old Chihuahuan hacienda and a second adobe house used as
an office/studio sits on 30 acres of land and is situated 10 miles
along the main paved road into Terlingua Ranch Lodge. The desert
mountain scenery is stunning, the wildlife abundant and the area
one of tranquil beauty. The night skies provide some of the best
stargazing in the northern hemisphere. The quiet is amazing. This
small ranch must not only be seen, but felt.
Alpine, a pretty town and home of Sul Ross University, is 72
miles to the North. Big Bend National Park is within 45 minutes
to the south and Big Bend State Park is about an hour away. Study
Butte and Terlingua Ghost Town are within half an hour's drive.
A small aircraft landing strip is six miles away at Terlingua
Ranch Lodge and a jetport is approximately 50 miles, just east
of Lajitas. Terlingua Ranch, 189,000 acres with 1100 miles of
roads to which owners have access, boasts scenery every bit as
beautiful as the National and State Parks which it borders.

INFRASTRUCTURE
Both houses are used for water catchment with containers able
to store 19,500 gallons of rainwater, which is run through a
separate pumphouse. The rainwater has been tested and is free
of bacteria and heavy metals or other pollutants. It is excellent
for drinking after passing through a small filter system.
The property also shares in a well which is used for gardens
and the small adobe building. Well water quality is poor and
the water is not potable. The tank running off this system has
a separate pumphouse.
There is a large, partially shaded garden area with an almond
tree, asparagus and artichokes, irrigated by an automated drip
irrigation system.
This property, with its unique buildings and scenery, is the
ideal getaway - serene and tranquil it evokes the West of a hundred
years ago.
This is a turnkey sale: walk in and take possession of all of
the antique and/or custom built furnishings, an outfitted kitchen
and artwork and antiques from five continents, including a 500
year old Castilian walnut dining set. Ideal for a second home
or for a corporate executive retreat.
