People often ask about medical and the EMS in Terlingua are the best!  Big Bend Regional is located in Alpine. There are a couple of different companies like Aero Care that offer emergency flights should you need them. There is a yearly cost of about $100 that takes care of the cost of the flight should you need it. Better to be covered for any unknown accidents.

The weather is hot in the summer so drink plenty of water and has loose-fitting clothes like denim shirts, etc. Your autos need to have high clearance and good tires. Solar and water catchment are the best way to have utilities.
