All of Terlingua Ranch is platted and filed at the courthouse in Alpine, Texas but if you go to build something permanent, get a licensed surveyor. Being an owner in the Ranch, you have access to the lodge facilities, pool, cabins, RV & Tent Camping.  There is a wonderful little cafe called the Bad Rabbit right near the cabins and main office. There is a fee (not an HOA Fee) but a POA (Property Owners Maintenance Fee) helps to maintain the roads. This is due in March of every year.

You have good views of the surrounding mountain ranges. It has quick access to the paved road that goes to the lodge.

This area is popular with hikers, photographers, and astronomers, both amateur and professional. We are one of the largest “Dark Sky Areas” in the Country. McDonald Observatory is in Ft. Davis and their website is McDonaldObservatory.org or go to BigBendDarkSkyReserve.org.  They will tell you what lights to use to keep the night-sky with friendly Lighting.
