The ranch has no restrictions except the county restrictions regulating light. This is the largest designated “Dark Sky Community” in the world that is a big favorite for astronomers & star gazers. Most people use solar for electricity and water catchment for water. There are several people out there that can assist you with those things.

There is a fee per year to help maintain the roads. It is $210.26 this year and changes every year for the cost of living.

The lodge has cabins, RV & tent camping, a cafe, a swimming pool, and also a dirt landing strip for fly-in guests. They have an office staffed with helpful and friendly folks. They do not sell land.

Directions to locate this is 62.1 Miles south of Alpine on Hwy 118 South. Go left on the Terlingua Ranch paved road (mailbox rd), 6.83 miles, then left (North) on Ringtail Road for 1.93 miles, right on Rockin Ranch Road for 1.86 miles, then right on West Rim Road for .26 miles,

From 118 it is 10.88 miles and 4.05 miles off Terlingua Ranch Road.

There are no gas stations except in Study Butte and Alpine. The lodge does not sell gas.
